Andrew Bryan Bland

   Andrew Bryan “Andy” Bland, 69, of Hertford, NC, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 in his home where he was being cared for by family.

   Mr. Bland was born in San Francisco, CA on October 7, 1953, and was the son of the late Rodman Bryan Bland and Esther Laurine Brannan Bland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sabrina Bland.

   A retired painter with Norfolk Naval Shipyard following 37 years of employment, he was an avid outdoorsman, especially loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed membership in The Shack Hunt Club.  Other enjoyments included riding his Harley motorcycle and in earlier years surfing.

   Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Barbara Kay Register Bland; a daughter, Amber Allen (husband, Craig) of Ocala, FL; a son, Shawn Bland (wife, Heather), also of Ocala; and three grandchildren, Trent and Faith Allen, and Sophia Bland.

   In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held.
