Alyce Snell Phelps

   Alyce Snell Phelps 80 of Roper, NC, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022.

   Born February 18, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Leroy Roosevelt Snell and Helen Louise (Spruill) Snell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Louis Phelps Jr., a sister, Robbie Snell, a brother, Roy Snell, a grandson, Stacy Clark, a son in law, McCoy Clark; and a great granddaughter, Angel Mitchell.

   Mom enjoyed gardening, her flowers, wood crafting, watching her favorite TV shows, flea markets and hanging out with her Chihuahua Callie. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed giving gifts and cooking until there were many tables filled with cakes, pies, ham, turkey, and all the trimmings.

   Her family includes her son: David Louis Phelps I (wife Rosemary), daughters Kathy Clark and Cindy Young, both of Roper NC, Ricki Shorkey (husband Jimmy) of Ft. Collins CO and Amanda Kinzler (husband Shane) of Chocowinity NC; grandchildren, David Louis Phelps II (wife Melanie), Adam Claude Phelps, Aaron Reid Phelps (wife Rachael), Derrick McCoy Clark (wife Alison), Joseph Adam Clark, Raymond James Shorkey (wife Jenny), Jamey Scott Carpenter (wife Lacey), Thomasinia Lynn Mitchell (husband Keon), Michael Hodges, Eric Anderson, Phillip Bayne Brinson, Trynity Rayne Brinson, Joshua Chase Kinzler, Haley Sandra Kinzler, Colton Lee Cahoon and Malykai Zayne Kinzler; great-grandchildren; Sara Phelps, Emma Phelps, Jasmine Phelps, Wyatt Clark, Damien Clark, Jaxson Clark, Alexis Clark, Eli Clark, Euan Shorkey, Maisie Shorkey, Jordan Carpenter, Austin Carpenter, Caleb Carpenter, Kazdyn Carpenter, Bentley Vanvacter, Brooklyn Carpenter, Laela Hodges, Aria Zimmerman, and Keinyra Shate Mitchell.

   A private service will be held.
