Alvin Darrel Glans

   Alvin Darrel Glans, 94, of Hertford, NC, and formerly a longtime resident of Virginia Beach, VA, died Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Edenton Primetime Assisted Living.

   Mr. Glans was born on August 9, 1927 in Daniels County, MT and was the son of the late Clarence and Mildred Gunn Glans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Young Glans; sisters, Marlene Prudeck and Naomi Robinson, and by a brother, Glenn Larson.

   A retired electrical engineer in civil service having been employed with N.A.R.F., he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Virginia Beach. A veteran, he had served in both the Army and Air Force.

   Surviving is his son, Darrel Glans (wife, Kim) of Hertford; a brother, Jaimie Glans of Grants Pass, OR; three grandchildren, Kristin, Collin and Candi; and five great-grandchildren, Colton, Jack, Charlie, Kate, and Khloe.

   At his request, no services will be held.
