Alice Morgan Pritchard Twiddy, 99, of Mark Drive, died Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in Edenton Primetime.
Mrs. Twiddy was born in Pasquotank County on August 25, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Clifford E. and Nancy Saunders “Nannie” Pritchard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Judson Twiddy, who died in 2012 after 65 years of marriage; by her sister, Irene P. Towe; by her brother, Clinton “Mutt” Pritchard; and by her son-in-law, John S. “Johnny” Barrow.
Employed with the Chowan County Clerk of Superior Court Office, she retired as a Deputy Clerk after 28 years of service. She was a member of Edenton Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Barrow of Edenton and Betsy Kelly of Raleigh; three grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth Kelly, Judson Smith (wife, Lauren, and their children, Parker, Ella Kate, and Emmalyn), and Leslie Smith Fuller (husband, Blake, and their children, Holden and Sydney); and nieces, nephews, and other extended members of the Pritchard and Twiddy families.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, October 31st, at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery and will be conducted by her pastor, The Rev. Dr. Koby Strawser.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory be made to Edenton Baptist Church, 200 South Granville Street, Edenton, NC 27932, where they will be designated for use in the Parking Lot Fund.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to her “adopted granddaughter”, Maria Tritt, and to the staff of Edenton Primetime for the care and comfort provided Mrs. Twiddy in her years of declining health.
