Aileen Parker Jones

   Aileen Parker Jones, 80, of 920 North Pembroke Avenue, Ahoskie, NC, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019, in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital.

   Mrs. Jones was born in Hertford County on March 13, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Walter Raleigh and Irene Davis Parker. A retired teacher’s assistant on both the Elementary and Special Education levels, she was a member of Powellsville Baptist Church.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clair Warren; and by a brother, Curtis Parker.

   Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Bernie Jones; her daughter, Kim Metz and husband, David, of Eure; her son, Tim Jones and wife, Alice, of Franklin, VA; three brothers, Melvin Parker of Suffolk, VA, Richard Parker of Norfolk, VA, and Randy Parker of Ahoskie; and her granddaughter, Jade Wilkinson and husband, Steven, and their sons, Trey and Norrin, of North Port, FL.

   Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Powellsville Baptist Church and will be conducted by the Revs. Ken Gibson and Roger Kiker. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.

   Flowers are welcomed, or memorial contributions may be made to either Powellsville Baptist Church or to the Powellsville Volunteer Fire Department.
