Mitchell Jordan Whitehurst

Mitchell Jordan Whitehurst 57 died Monday March 26 2012. Mr. Whitehurst was born in Gates County and was the son of the late Melvin E. Whitehurst and Barbara Byrd Whitehurst Jordan. A former employee in the engineering department at Union Camp Corp. in Franklin VA he later worked with the Michael Baker Company in Virginia Beach. He was a member of Savages United Methodist Church in Gates. Surviving are two brothers Michael O. Whitehurst of Suffolk and M. Wayne Whitehurst and wife Claire of Corapeake; a niece Leanna Tyler; a nephew Ben Whitehurst; a great-niece Madison Howell; and a great-nephew Carter Tyler. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home 304 Main Street Gatesville by the Rev. Michael Brinkley. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the chapel service.
