Jeanette Winslow Jordan

Jeanette Winslow Jordan 92 formerly of Corapeake NC and more recently of Lake Prince Suffolk VA died Sunday April 22 2012. Mrs. Jordan was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward and Eula Savage Winslow. For many years she and her husband the late L.B. Jordan owned and operated Gates Poultry Farm Inc. As a child she attended Parkers United Methodist Church but in later years was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and its Womens Fellowship. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son L. Britten Jordan; sisters Catherine Oliver and Evelyn Butler and brothers Glenn and Stanwood Winslow. Surviving are a daughter Jean Harrell and husband Stanley of Virginia Beach; a son Roy Jordan and wife Sandra of Chesapeake; a daughter-in-law Lois G. Jordan of Corapeake; a brother Jessie Winslow and wife Bettie of Winchester VA; a sister-in-law Juanita Daniels of Raleigh; nine grandchildren 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Grove Christian Church by the Rev. Garrett Lewis. Friends may join the family in the social hall of the church immediately following services. A private burial will be in the Jordan Family Cemetery on Sign Pine Road in Chowan County.
