Ida Margaret Copeland Hobbs

Mrs. Ida Margaret Copeland Hobbs 82 of Tyner NC went home to be with her Lord on Sunday April 15 2012.Mrs. Hobbs was a native of Chowan County and the daughter of the late Charles Cracus and Clemma Ward Copeland. She graduated from Chowan High School and after 30 years as Cost Clerk for the Transportation Department of the Chowan County School System she retired in 1987. As a faithful member of Ballards Bridge Baptist Church she had served as a Sunday School Teacher GA Leader Social Committee member and was an active member of the Rosaland Harrell Circle and the Nina -Aurelia Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Marvin Hobbs and siblings Estes Copeland Lavern Copeland Joyce White and Marion Bourland.Surviving are three daughters Connie Hobbs Boyce of Pittsboro Rebecca Hobbs Wood and husband Eddie of Andrews and Alice Hobbs Blanchard and husband Russell of Belvidere; eight grandchildren David and Robert Boyce Kendra Chrissie Matthew and Meredith Wood Andrew Justin and Jenny Blanchard and six great grandchildren. Mrs. Hobbs has a brother Malcolm Copeland and his wife Sue of Ahoskie; and a sister-in-law Deborah Copeland of Belvidere.A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday April 18 2012 at 2:00 pm in Ballards Bridge Baptist Church by the Revs. Ron Parr and Russell Blanchard.
