Richard Edward Jack 65 of Sutton Road died Saturday March 10 2012 in Duke University Hospital Durham NC. Dick was born in St. Paul MN and was the son of the late Harold K. and Margaret Wulff Jack. A graduate of LaFayette College he was a retired manufacturing manager with Corning Inc. where he worked for 32 years was a Methodist by faith a member of Scotch Hall Preserve the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Rotarian. An Army Green Beret he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant was a Platoon Leader and was awarded both the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife of 21 years Alice Bush Jack; three daughters Jennifer Jack Walton and husband Jeff of the Outer Banks Amy Jack of Baltimore MD and Stephanie Jack of Nashville TN; two sons Jason Reese and Michael Reese and wife Catava all of Corning NY; and two grandchildren Caelyn and Colton Reese. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory 735 Virginia Road Edenton by Pastor Troy Holland. Military rites will be accorded on the lawn of the funeral home following the chapel service. Friends may join the family in the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
