Joanne C. Lesiewicz 63 of 107 Horniblow Point Edenton NC passed away Saturday April 21 2012 at home with her family by her side. She had lost her three year struggle with brain cancer. Joanne was born raised educated and had her teaching career in New Jersey. The daughter of the late Vincent and Virginia Helb she was raised in West Orange obtained her Bachelor of Art Education at Montclair State and taught art in several districts primarily Westfield for 25 years. She received her Master of Education and Master of Fine Arts from Kean University all while teaching and raising her two sons in North Plainfield. In nearly a decade of retirement she enjoyed her many friends travels to Europe using her artistic talents in her art work and devoting many hours to developing her acres of gardens of roses daylilies and Irises. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her twin brother John Helb. Surviving are her husband Don Lesiewicz; her sons Jason Bigden and wife Robyn of Jersey City NJ and Brian Bigden and wife Jodi of Murray Hill NJ; and her brother James Helb and family of North Caldwell NJ. Friends may join the family Monday April 30th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory 735 Virginia Road Edenton.
