James Edward Lane Jr.

James Edward Lane Jr. 80 of 274 Pond Road died Thursday March 1 2012 in Albemarle Hospital Elizabeth City NC. Mr. Lane was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late James Edward Sr. and Annie Marie Richardson Lane. A retired electrician he attended Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a Navy veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Roy Lane. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Allie Marie Forbes Lane; a daughter Janis Lane of Virginia Beach VA; two sons James E. Lane III and wife Lisa of Murfreesboro and Bert V. Lane of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Riddle Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. John Mason and the Rev. Roland Cooper with Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral and Cremation Providers 1125 Harvey Point Road Hertford handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the church the hour prior to the service on Saturday. A private burial will follow in New Hollywood Cemetery Elizabeth City.
