John Frederick “Jack” Schroeder

John Frederick Jack Schroeder 85 of 301 Country Club Drive died Tuesday April 3 2012 in his home. Mr. Schroeder was born in Jersey City NJ and was the son of the late Frederick Bruno and Alma Weiter Schroeder. A graduate of the University of South Carolina he was a Navy veteran of World War II and had retired as a civil engineer with the Federal Aviation Administration. A member of the Albemarle Sounds and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church he was a former member of both the American Legion and the Edenton Rotary Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Beverly Willis Bev Schroeder and a brother Robert Schroeder. Surviving are a daughter Laura Elizabeth Schroeder of Winterville; a son John Robert Schroeder and wife Cindy of Stantonsburg; three grandchildren Emily Hoffman of Greenville Julie Christensen and husband Lee of Elizabeth City and John Reid Schroeder; two great-grandchildren Alex Christensen and Sophie Drew Christensen; a niece Janet Schroeder and two nephews Doug and Wayne Schroeder. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory 735 Virginia Road by the Rev. Nadine E. Ridley. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
