John Gatling Lynch 43 passed away Sunday March 4 2012. Born in Norfolk VA on March 13 1968 raised in Falls Church and Williamsburg VA he was a graduate of Randolph-Macon Academy after also attending Bruton High School and Walsingham Academy. He graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Courts and Criminology and a Minor in English. John held various legal and business analyst positions in the telecommunications and technology industries with MCI Sprint Nextel Qwest and EDS. More recently he was actively involved in trading and investing in the equity capital markets. John was passionate about sports golf fishing cooking cycling and coaching youth athletics. Preceded in death by his parents John Samuel Lynch and Virginia Bard Gatling Lynch Dunaye he is survived by his brother Lance Riddick Waverly Lynch of Charleston SC; his aunt and uncle Joseph Lester and Nancy Gatling Beesley of Nokomis FL; cousins Joseph Lester II and Kirsten Ricker Beesley of Greenville SC Lance Gatling and Gaylynn Beard Beesley of San Diego CA Kathryn Crosby and Julian Dewey Willis of Virginia Beach Karyn Barrett Crosby of Richmond and Elisabeth Madison Crosby of Virginia Beach; his girlfriend Heather Ruth Wilhelm of Richmond; and goddaughter Kelsey Marie Deppe also of Richmond. A memorial service will be held Friday March 9th at 2:00 p.m. in Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg. Inurnment will be Saturday March 10th at 2:00 p.m. in the family plot at Gatesville Cemetery Gatesville NC. Miller Funeral Home 304 Main Street Gatesville is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial gifts be made to the breast cancer organization Share Our Suzy Lowcountry P.O. Box 1778 Mount Pleasant SC 29465.
