Mildred Webb Monk White

Mildred Webb Monk White 84 of 3031 New Hope Road died Wednesday April 4 2012 in her home in which she was also born. Mrs. White was the daughter of the late Guy Thomas and Virginia Hughes Webb. A homemaker she was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dempsey J. D.J. White; two sons Guy Thomas Big Tom White and Carson Lee Kit White; and a brother Tuck Webb. Surviving are her daughter Virginia White Mrs. Jenny Cosner of Elizabeth City; a daughter-in-law Susan Humphlett White of Kitty Hawk; a brother Horace Webb of Elizabeth City; five grandchildren Travis and Shannon White Rebecca Davenport Jodie Cosner and Jessica Williams; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in New Hope United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ed Rutenkroger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home 1125 Harvey Point Road Hertford and all other times at the residence.
