Syble King Miles

Syble Florine King Miles, 90, of 916 Acorn Hill Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mrs. Miles was born in Gates County and was the daughter of the late Simon and Ollie King. A retired secretary with both Armstrong Lumber Company and Ferguson Equipment Company, she was a faithful member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Avery G. Miles, two brothers and a sister. Surviving are cousins, Sidney Stallings and wife Gladys, Thelma Kinney, Heber Eason, Jr. and wife Edna, Sally Morris and husband Aubrey, Betty Kight and husband Joseph, Paul Pell, Dianne Stallings, Janie Hill and husband Bobby, Eddie Stallings, Mary Alice Bass and husband Bobby, Gary King and wife Candy, and Lynn Highland and husband Craig; a step-granddaughter, Cindy Kline; and many friends and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Sandy Cross Baptist Church by the Rev. Terry Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the church social hall following services.
