Weldon Lee Hobbs

Weldon Lee Hobbs, 79, of 225 Hobbsville Road, Hobbsville, NC, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in his home. Mr. Hobbs was born in Gates County and was the son of the late Junius Alfred and Lillie Mae White Hobbs. A retired shipping supervisor from Vigoro Corporation, he was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Jakeman Hobbs, and a sister, Doris Stallings. Surviving are his three daughters, Sharon Hobbs of Hobbsville, Cheryl Reid of Kaplan, LA, and Teresa Quebodeaux of Crowley, LA; two sisters, Dorothy Hendrix of Hobbsville and Juanita Simmons of Tallahassee, FL; a brother, James Hobbs of Suffolk, VA; six grandchildren, Heather and Matt Beasley, Rick and Leslie Reid, and Britt and Christian Godeaux; and three great-grandchildren, Robbie, Gabriel, and Aiden. A private service will be held with Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
