Ann Hines Caneup

Ann Hines Caneup, 85, of 1300 Don Juan Road, Hertford, NC, died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Caneup was born in Carolina Beach, NC and was the daughter of the late Benjamin Bailey and Iredell Ross Hines. A homemaker, she was a member of Snug Harbor Community Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Caneup, and a brother, Clinton Hines, Sr. Surviving are her daughter, Anna C. Boyce and husband James of Hertford; two sons, James Kahl and wife Jean of Hartford, WI and Paul Kahl and wife Jill of Hertford; five grandchildren, Shannon, Laura, Nick, Nichole, and Brian; and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Monday at 4:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Revs. Stanley Nixon, Garry Mickey and Nick Kahl. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton. Friends may join the family Sunday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the home of her daughter, 111 Red Maple Ave., Hertford.
