James Richard Morgan, Jr.

James Richard Morgan, Jr., 64, of 612 Surfside Drive, Edenton, NC, died Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mr. Morgan was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late James R., Sr. and Hazel Twiddy Morgan. The retired Environmental Services Manager for Chowan River Nursing & Rehab Center (formerly Britthaven), he was a member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church and had served in the NC National Guard. Surviving are his wife of nearly 46 years, Nancy Bass Morgan; a son, Jon Morgan and wife Sarah of Edenton; two sisters, Brenda Jordan of Edenton and Angie Black of Elizabeth City; and two granddaughters, Madeline and Lillian. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at his home and will be officiated by Pastors Warren Stackhouse, Thomas Biggs, and James Horton. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
