Geraldine Lane White

Geraldine Lane White, 87, of 1684 Morgan's Corner Road, Elizabeth City, NC, died Friday, July 27, 2012 in Winslow Memorial Home. Mrs. White was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Lindon H. and Emily Dail Lane. A retired sales clerk from Cato's Dept. Store, she was a member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church in Tyner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lester Ray Lane and L.H. Lane, Jr., by her former husband, Wayland White, Jr., and by her son, Clay L. White. Surviving are three daughters, Emily W. Copeland and husband Lester Ray of Tyner, Elaine W. Garrett and husband Lloyd of Hertford, and Annette W. Parks and husband Glenn of Edenton; two sons, Clark M. White and wife Joyce of Belvidere and Bruce L. White and friend Lisa of Tyner; four sisters, Clarine Armstrong, Ouida Speakman and JoAnne Haskett, all of Elizabeth City, and Maxine Bunch of Edenton; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Parr. A private burial will follow in Up River Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton.
