Mildred Ayscue Bundy

Mildred Ayscue Bundy, 84, of 637 New Hope Road, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Vidant Chowan Hospital, Edenton. Mrs. Bundy was born in Vance County and was the daughter of the late Joseph Rogers and Irma Bagley Ayscue. A homemaker, she was a faithful member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where she had served in the United Methodist Women, was a Sunday school and VBS teacher, was in the Lessie Hollowell Circle and had also sang in the choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Bundy, and two brothers, Ray and Joseph Ayscue. Surviving are her three daughters, Nancy White and husband Charlie, Sally Ann Garner, and Irma Forbes and special friend, George Cofield, all of Hertford; four sons, John E. Bundy and wife Linda of Hertford, Arnold Bundy and Annie of Harrellsville, Carroll Bundy and wife Carla of Hertford, and Thomas Bundy and wife Trudy of Washington; two sisters, Sallie Lane of Hertford and Ruth Benton and husband Walter of Portsmouth, VA; three brothers, John Ayscue and wife Louise of Hertford, George Ayscue and wife Ann of Goldsboro, and J.R. Ayscue and wife Laura of Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by Pastors Ray Tavenner and Vickie Woolard. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the home of her son, John Bundy, 196 Old Neck Road, Hertford.
