Annie Rae Perry Chamblee

Annie Rae Perry Chamblee, 99, formerly of the 500 block of Surf Side Drive, Edenton, NC, died Friday, August 3, 2012 in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth, VA. Mrs. Chamblee was born in Hertford County and was the daughter of the late Walter Edgar and Annie Bazemore Perry. A retired private duty nurse, she was the oldest member of Albemarle Baptist Church in Edenton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Chamblee, her daughter, Joyce C. Owens, by sisters, Ruth, Emma, and Dot, and by brothers, Edgar and George. Surviving are her daughter, Judith Ann Watkins and husband Bubba of Chesapeake, VA; five grandchildren, Jimmy, Connie, Leiann, Dan, and Kelly; and two great-grandchildren, Kristen and Brent. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Albemarle Baptist Church by Pastors Tommy Berry and Greg Brinson. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd., Chesapeake.
