Paul Thomas Wood

Paul Thomas Wood, 73, of 632 Swamp Road, Hertford, NC, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 in his home. Mr. Wood was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Wallace Mevlyn and Frances Elizabeth Singleton Wood. He was a retired dragline operator and commercial fisherman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Rudd Wood. Surviving are his daughter, Paula W. Mosher and husband Bob of Louisburg; a son, Thomas Mevlyn "Butch" Wood and wife Gale of Stumpy Point; a brother, Leroy Wood of Elizabeth City; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At his request, no services will be held. Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
