Dorothy White Creed

Dorothy White Creed, 70, of 418 Turnpike Road, Belvidere, NC, died Monday, September 10, 2012 in Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, NC. Mrs. Creed was born in Perquimans County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Clarkson White and Emma Ainsley White Rountree. Formerly employed with Dr. Lloyd Griffin, DDS, in Elizabeth City, Peoples Bank & Trust Co. in Hertford, and the Town of Hertford Municipal Office, she was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Frances Winslow, her sisters, Marjorie Foreman and Billie Bryant, and by her brother, Charlie Clarkson White, Jr. Surviving are her husband, Leonard T. Creed; step-daughters, Gwen Bistarkey of Palm Bay, FL and Shelley Bryant of Mt. Airy, NC; a sister, Nan Reynolds of Belvidere; her best friend, Annie Onley of Hertford; and three step-grandchildren. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the mausoleum chapel of Skyline Memorial Gardens in Mt. Airy.
