Lillian Bass Williford

On September 15, 2012, Lillian Bass Williford was completely healed of Parkinson's Disease when she went home to be with her Lord. Mrs. Williford was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Quinton and Wessie Saunders Bass. The former manager of the Roanoke-Chowan Hospital Gift Shop, and a former carrier for The Virginian-Pilot newspaper, she was a faithful member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. Surviving are her son, Chris Williford and wife Lynn of Chesapeake; her daughter, Hope Hoggard Paquette and husband Andre of Suffolk, VA; her brother, Tom Bass and wife Anna of Edenton; four grandchildren, Regina Williford, Toby Williford, Rebecca Wilkerson and husband David, and Quinton Hoggard; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Skylar Wilkerson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Raleigh Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Thompson. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, and will be officiated by the Rev. Thompson and the Rev. Robert May. Friends may join the family Monday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, or on Tuesday in the Raleigh Heights social hall immediately following the church service.
