Ruth Bixby Fritz

Ruth Bixby Fritz, 98, formerly of Dobbs Street, Hertford, NC, and more recently of Edenton Prime Time, died Monday, September 17, 2012. Mrs. Fritz was born in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of the late Alvin and Grace Lynn Bixby. A retired secretary from CTS Corporation, she was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elkhart, IN and more recently while in Hertford had attended Hertford United Methodist Church and enjoyed membership in the Perquimans County Senior Citizens Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Hemund and by a brother, Robert Bixby. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Jones and husband Charles B. of Hertford; a nephew, Glenn Hemund and wife Helen of Elkhart, IN and several other nieces and nephews; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart, IN.
