Walter Julius Morgan, Sr., 89, of 18 Stocks Lane, Corapeake, NC, died Monday, September 24, 2012 in his home. Mr. Morgan was born in Nash County and was the son of the late Elmo Herbert and Clara Reams Morgan. A retired bus driver from Tidewater Regional Transit in Norfolk, VA after 35 years of continuous service, he was a member of Parkway Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church in Chesapeake, VA. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, he had a great love for his family and for his country having served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Morgan and Myrtle Barnes, and by three infant grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Clemmie Marie Stocks Morgan; three daughters, Marie Yvonne Smith and husband Tracy, Brenda Lee Morgan, all of Corapeake, and Judith Harris of Mount Olive; two sons, Kenneth Ray Morgan, Sr. and wife Cindy of Melbourne, FL and Walter Julius Morgan, Jr. and wife Darlene of Norfolk; a special niece, Anita Bill and husband James of Hope Mills; a special nephew, Kinsey Whitley and wife Brenda of Wilson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews and extended family members. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Eureka Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Cameron Currin. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the residence.
