Sue Williams Keller, 93, of Edenton Prime Time Village, Mark Drive, died Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mrs. Keller was born November 28, 1918 in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Levy and Minnie Copeland Williams. Living in Edenton until she was 22 years old, she then moved to Raleigh and worked as an office clerk with the North Carolina Employment Security Commission until retiring. Deeply involved in her heritage, she worked for many years in research of her family tree. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Alexander Keller; her sister, Neppie Briley; her brother, Ralph Williams; and by nephews Ray Briley and Bobby Briley. Sue leaves behind three nephews, Roy Briley and wife Louise of Windsor, John Williams of Raleigh, and Ralph Williams, Jr. and wife Tracy of Canonsburg, PA; a niece-in-law, Nancy L. Briley of Merry Hill; several great-nieces and great-nephews, James Briley, Jr. and Connie of Pickens, SC, Amy Rouse and Andrew of Greenville, SC, Kim Hickman and Tim of Edenton, Helen Hendrick and Roland of Monticello, GA, Tony Briley and Wanda of Winder, GA, Joy Honeycutt of Conyers, GA, Kathy Copeland of Windsor, Pat Mizelle and Dale of Greenville, NC and Angela Warren of Raleigh; and a very special childhood friend, Patti Byrum of Edenton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, and other times at 718 North Broad Street, both in Edenton.
