Matthew Jacob Gilbert

Infant Matthew Jacob Gilbert, 7 months, of 226 Happy Home Road, Tyner, NC, died Friday, October 5, 2012. Matthew was born in Chowan County and was the son of Jennifer Marie Gilbert of Tyner and Zachary Ty Anson Harwood of Norfolk, VA. Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Kaitlyn Gilbert of the home; three brothers, Cameron Costa and Nathan and Daniel Gilbert, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Rosemary Gilbert of Tyner; paternal grandparents, Christina Conery Harwood of Suffolk and David Harwood of Edenton; paternal great-grandmother, Carolyn Harwood of Chesapeake, VA; an aunt, Jesika Harwood of Edenton; three uncles, Eddie Gilbert and wife Leanna of Belvidere, Stephen Gilbert of Currituck, and David Miller of Portsmouth, VA; and several cousins and extended family members. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Center Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Blanchard. Friends may join the family at the residence.
