Josefa Glasner Rapier

Josefa Glasner Rapier, 77, of 22 Orchard Street, Sunbury, NC, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in her home. Mrs. Rapier was born in Munich, Germany and was the daughter of the late Karl and Johanna Hermann Glasner. Retired from pharmaceutical supply, she was a Catholic by faith, and received her American citizenship on December 8, 1975. Surviving are her husband, Raymond L. Rapier; five daughters, Johanna Steinmacher and husband Steve of Jackson, Caroline Lamothe of Montgomery, AL, Rose Boardman of Cobbtown, GA, Doris McLean and husband David of Elizabeth, NJ, and Darlene Mertz and husband Bryan of Virginia Beach; a son, Erwin Collins and wife Maryann of Warsaw; a sister, Elfride Flavin of Watertown, NY and two sisters in Germany; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be private. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
