Evelyn White Hare, 85, of 3032 Kelly's Beach Road, Tyner, NC, passed peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Hare was born in the Macedonia community of Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Henry James and Noni Miller White. A homemaker, she will long be remembered by her family and friends for her love of pretty flowers, her famous pecan and peanut brittle, and her delicious meat salad. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tony Hare; four sisters, Mary Ashley, Lydia Harrison, Jean Hope White and Sadie Wilder; and by brothers, Carroll and Marcus White. Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Kelly Raymond Hare; a son, David James Hare and wife Wilma; a daughter, Shelby Hare Lilly and husband James, all of Tyner; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Alexander Hare of Winterville; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Mrs. Hare was a member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church, where a celebration of her life will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Ron Parr and the Rev. Bob Young. A private burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton. Friends may join the family at the residence.
