Brenda Baines Jones

Brenda Joyce Baines Jones, 48, of Windsor Village, Windsor, NC, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Martin General Hospital, Williamston, NC. Mrs. Jones was born in Portsmouth, VA and was the daughter of Etta Faye Willoughby Surles of Williamston and the late John Robert Baines. She was a homemaker and had attended Cashie Baptist Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Stevens, and by grandparents, Hugh Van and Edna Willoughby. In addition to her mother she is survived by two sons, James Walker Jones, Jr. of Ahoskie and Alan Michael Jones of Chapel Hill; sisters and brothers, Loretta Silverthorne and husband Richard, Delores Baines, and Matthew and Travis Surles, all of Williamston; her step-father, Donald Surles of Williamston; three nieces, Taylor Silverthorne, Michelle Clark, and Stacy Stevens; a nephew, Eric Gardner and fiancé Morgan; and a special aunt, Linda Hill of Ahoskie. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 24th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, by Dr. Wayne Proctor. Burial will follow in Cool Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
