Genevieve Mary Haller

Genevieve Mary Haller, 93, formerly of Virginia Beach, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 in a local hospital in Elizabeth City, NC. Dr. Haller was born October 20, 1918 in Downers Grove, Illinois and was the youngest of three daughters of the late Charles and Zella Haller. Dr. Haller received her Music degree from Illinois Wesleyan University and then went on to become a trained and licensed chiropractor in Florida shortly thereafter. A pioneer in this healing field, she remained so until her retirement in the early 1990's. She arrived in Virginia Beach in the mid 1960's and eventually became the Director of Chiropractic Research for the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.), which grew from the work of Edgar Cayce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William Brunelle and Jeffrey Furst, and sisters, Maude and Violet. Although she loved children, she never had any of her own. A memorial service, arranged by the family, will be held Sunday, December 2, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the A.R.E., 215 67th Street, Virginia Beach.
