Lucille Lee Francisco Shingleton

Lucille Lee Francisco Shingleton, 88, formerly of Hwy 158, Roduco, NC, and more recently of 430 Folly Road, Sunbury, died Monday, November 26, 2012. Mrs. Shingleton was born in Roanoke County, VA and was the daughter of the late William Coleman and Florence Mable Furr Francisco. A homemaker, she had also retired as a seamstress and had worked with her son and daughter-in-law at Doris and Roger's Kitchen. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Winfall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Whittington "Daddy-O" Shingleton, sisters, Bessie Vaughn, Joyce Wright, and Shirley Francisco, and brothers, Roy and Lewis Francisco, and an infant brother, Clarence Francisco. Surviving are four daughters, Janet Young and husband Roy of Mooresville, Jane Ambrose and husband Gene of Gatesville, Connie Norton and husband Ron of South Mills, and Bonnie Eason and husband Wayne of Sunbury; three sons, Wayne W. Shingleton, Jr. and wife Ernestine of Vinton, VA, Roger Shingleton and wife Doris of Gates, and James Shingleton and partner Jackie Barker of Roanoke, VA; two sisters, Nellie Stump and Nora Reed, both of Salem, VA; three brothers, Kenneth Francisco of Salem, Russell Francisco of Roanoke, VA, and Larry Francisco of Salem; 16 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, and will be officiated by Curtis Mozelle. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, and all other times at the home of her son, Roger Shingleton, 415 Reynoldson Road, Gates.
