Leon Earl Bunch, 81, of 2936 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 in Vidant Chowan Hospital. Mr. Bunch was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late James Burt and Willie Peele Bunch. A retired farmer and mechanic, he had worked with Edenton Tractor Co., and was a member and deacon of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, Unanimity Masonic Lodge #7, the Sudan Temple of the Shrine, and Edenton Chapter #302, The Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by and infant son, Dennis Leon Bunch, his sister, Beulah Bunch Morgan, and by brothers, Marvin, Melvin, and Carl Bunch. Surviving are his wife of over 48 years, Maryann Robertson Bunch; a brother, Guy Delton Bunch and wife Connie of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Doris Bunch of Edenton and Jane Bunch of Tyner; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in Rocky Hock Baptist Church by Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
