Clyde "Pete" Brinkley Blanchard

Clyde Brinkley "Pete" Blanchard, 91, of 433 Dillard's Mill Road, Tyner, NC, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2012 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mr. Blanchard was born in Gates County and was the son of the late Alfred Perry and Lillian Brinkley Blanchard. A retired farmer, he was a member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Copeland Blanchard; his daughter, Carolyn Marie Blanchard; and sisters Erma Blanchard, Sadie Griffin, Alice Spainhour, and Doris Benton. Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Rose Blanchard McPheeters and husband Rick of Denver, CO; his son, Bernie Clyde Blanchard of Tyner; and two sisters, Ruth Brinkley of Suffolk, VA and Naomi Hofler of Elizabeth City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family on Friday in the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
