Ramona Divers Elliott

Ramona Delores Divers Elliott, 83, of Carolina Avenue, Hertford, NC, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation of Hertford. Mrs. Elliott was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late William M. "W.M." and Margaret Davis Divers. A homemaker, she was a member of Cashie Baptist Church in Windsor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carlton "Bobby" Elliott, three sisters, Naomi Banks, Thelma Nixon, and Juanita Divers, and four brothers, Bill, Preston, Haywood, and James Divers. Surviving are her daughter, Carla Elliott Allen of Somerset, KY; a sister, Margaret Christgau of Hertford; two granddaughters, Emily Worley and husband J. Todd and Susan Hoseclaw and husband Tanner; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Brett Worley, all of Somerset, KY. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Rev. H. Gene Boyce. A private burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home immediately following the service on Saturday.
