Sarah Elliott Hollowell

Sarah Elliott Hollowell, 91, born December 10, 1921, formerly of 1521 West Queen Street, Edenton, NC, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2013, from Countryside Village in Pikeville, NC. Born in the Chapanoke community of Perquimans County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Proctor and Linda Benton Elliott. A member of Edenton Baptist Church, she is remembered for her love and support of her family, her friends, and her love of working with plants in her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Aydlett Hollowell, and brothers, Matthew Henry Elliott, John Ambrose Elliott, and L.B. "Ranzy" Elliott. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Ann Hollowell of Durham; her sons, Wayne Aydlett Hollowell of Rocky Mount and David Elliott Hollowell and wife Terri of Fremont; two sisters, Lessie Elliott White of Winfall and Minnie Bell Elliott of Chapanoke; two grandsons, Wayne Aydlett Hollowell, Jr. and wife Kristen and Joseph Ross Hollowell; and a great-grandson, William Aydlett Hollowell. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery by the Rev. David Brooks. Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family in the fellowship hall of Edenton Baptist Church immediately following the graveside service.
