Maude Barnes Lee

Maude Barnes Lee, 90, of 744 NC 45 N., Merry Hill, NC, died Friday, January 18, 2013, in Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital, Ahoskie. Mrs. Lee was born in Washington County, NC and was the daughter of the late Carley Wesley and Eva B. Barnes. She was retired from Carter's Ink. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Herman Lee, her daughter, Mildred Marie Durham, and sons, Roland and William Wesley Lee. Surviving are four daughters, Lorena Garland and husband Tommy of Austin, Arkansas, Sandra Faye Russell of Washington, NC, Linda Lee Durham and husband Sammy of Beaufort, and Mary Arleen Lee of Merry Hill; four sons, Robert "Bob" Lee of Merry Hill, Dewey Lee of Orlando, FL, Herman Lee of Kenly, and Tony Lee and wife Kathy of Merry Hill; a brother, Alvin Barnes and wife Patsy of Plymouth; 27 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Lee Family Cemetery near the home, and will be officiated by Jerry Garland. Friends may join the family Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and all other times at her residence.
