Percy Lancelot Winslow, Sr., 88, of 1225 Sandy Cross Road, Belvidere, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in his son's home in Belvidere. Mr. Winslow was born in Perquimans County and was the son of the late Percy Emmitt and Nora P. Winslow. A retired farmer, he and his wife were also the former owners and operators of Nicanor Country Store. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1847 in Elizabeth City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Leona Jordan Winslow; a sister, Joann W. Stallings; two half-sisters, Onella W. Winslow and Johnnie S. White; and a close cousin, Mary Lucy Fisher. Surviving are his son, Percy "Lot" Winslow, Jr. and wife Teresa; three grandsons, Todd Winslow, Lance Winslow and wife Cindy, and Terence Winslow and wife Kimberly; six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Bryce, Colby, Kayla and Reilly; a brother, Burwell R. Winslow and wife Alvis; and a brother-in-law, Lewis H. Stallings. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, by the Revs. Michael Brinkley and Richard Wilcox. Burial will follow in Up River Cemetery. Friends may join the family Thursday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at Lot and Teresa's home, 1069 Sandy Cross Road, Belvidere.
