William F. Richardson

William Francis "Sunshine" Richardson, 90, of 101 Jackson Street, Edenton, NC, died Friday, February 15, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville. Mr. Richardson was born in Rhinehart, LA, and was the son of the late Jay Steele and Minnie Bell Mosely Richardson. A retired civil service employee with the Elizabeth City, NC US Coast Guard Base, he was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Helen Hughes Richardson, and Doris Basnight Richardson; a sister, Elizabeth Lloyd; brothers, Robert and George Richardson; and by a step daughter, Linda Long. Surviving are his wife, Alice Barnette Richardson; a son, William Steele "Bill" Richardson and wife Sherry of Poplar Branch; two step daughters, Vickie Williams and husband John of Edenton and Ellen Schoettle and husband Harry of Tuttle, OK; a step son, John Ayers of Edenton; a step son-in-law, Irvin Long, Jr. of Edenton; a grandson, D. Ashley Richardson and wife Preeti Chugha of San Francisco, CA; and eight step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Garry Mickey. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery.
