Bobby Hartwell

James Russell "Bobby" Hartwell, 83, of 1614 Fox Trail, Edenton, NC, died Monday, February 25, 2013 in Albemarle Hospital, Elizabeth City. Mr. Hartwell was born in Sophia, WV and was the son of the late Louis D. and Lena Mae Suiter Hartwell. A retired plumber who worked with Smith & King in Virginia Beach, he was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Mae Fritz Hartwell; a daughter, Lena Mae Hartwell Cohen and husband Carl of Edenton; a son, James R. "Rusty" Hartwell of the home; and two grandchildren, Bobbi Nicole Hartwell and Christopher Steven Cohen. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Donald Hartwell. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family in the funeral home on Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., and all other times at the residence.
