Elton Boswell, Jr.

William Elton Boswell, Jr., 53, died Monday, March 4, 2013 in Vidant Medical Center, Greenville, NC. Elton was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late William Elton, Sr. and Clara Mason Boswell. He was known for his outstanding abilities in auto body repair work and was a member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church. Surviving are three sisters, Beth B. Compton of Greensboro, Debra B. Phelps and husband Tim of Edenton, and Nancy B. Mathias and husband Richard of Sarasota, FL. Elton was known as "Unckie" to his nieces Lizzie Compton Bowdridge, Lindsey Mathias and Aubrey Phelps Madry and his nephew, Clay Compton and he was a helpful friend to many. In accordance to the family's wishes, his eyes were donated so that others might be able to see and his body was donated to the Duke University School of Medicine. A private memorial service will be held.
