Eleanor Odom Lemmond, 76, of 3251 Rocky Hock Road, Edenton, NC, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Portsmouth Naval Hospital. Mrs. Lemmond was born in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late John H. and Lettie Harrell Odom. Retired from Pelikan Ink in Edenton, she had also formerly worked in the cafeteria at Chowan High School. A faithful member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church, she was active in the W.M.U., the Nina Aurelia Sunday School Class, and the Foy Farmer Circle. Surviving are her husband of over 30 years, Thomas Allan Lemmond; three daughters, Lula Spruill (Mike) of Elizabeth City, Brenda Wagner (Randy Verzwyvelt) of Edenton, and Frankie Casper Bunch (Kevin) of Clayton; a son, Edward Lee Casper of Edenton; two sisters, Shirley Bryant of Rich Square and Carolyn Hollowell of Tyner; two brothers, Adolph Odom of Windsor and George "Buck" Odom of Tyner; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
