Roxie Ora Dail

Roxie Ora Dail, 105, formerly of Creek Drive, Hertford, NC, died Thursday evening, April 4, 2013 in W. R. Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City. Mrs. Dail was born in Perquimans County and was the daughter of the late Ira F. and Barbara Ellen Lassiter Dail. A retired seamstress from Don Juan Manufacturing Co., she was the oldest member of Great Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Daniel Dail, a son, Jesse Thomas Dail; a great-grandchild, Zeb Copeland; five brothers, Lonnie, Rennie, Gedie, Lofton, and Charlie Dail; a sister, Janie Strong; and a son-in-law, Earl Riddick. Surviving are her two daughters, Dorothy Riddick of Hertford and Barbara Ann Rominger and husband Ken of Winfall; a daughter-in-law, Louise J. Dail of Hertford; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and extended family members. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by the Rev. H. Gene Boyce with Miller & Van Essendelft, Funeral and Cremation Providers, 1125 Harvey Point Road, Hertford, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the home of her daughter, Barbara Rominger, 236 Creek Drive, Winfall.
