Louise Beals Stone

Louise Beals Stone, 67, of 406 Hog Neck Road, Hertford, NC, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Stone was born in Pasquotank County and was the daughter of the late Ervin Roosevelt and Gladys Sawyer Beals. Employed for many years at Hardee's in Elizabeth City, she was a member of First Christian Church, also in Elizabeth City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Vincent Stone, Sr., a brother, Woodrow Beals, a sister, Doris Warden, a half-sister, Brenda Canon, and a step-daughter, Brenda Dail. Surviving are two daughters, Karin Ventura and husband Johnny of Elizabeth City and Rosa Forbes and husband Edward of Hertford; a son, Ronald E. Hite, Jr. and wife Patti of Belvidere; a brother, Robert E. Beals of Denver, CO; a half brother, Michael Beals of South Carolina; two half sisters, Sandy Sawyer and Connie Whitley, both of Hertford; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Doyle's family, three daughters, Kathy Taber of Spanaway, Wash., April Colson and Robin Bridgers, both of Hertford; a son, Vincent Stone of Hertford; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Chapel, 1125 Harvey Point Road, by the Rev. James Spaugh. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
