Suzanne Speight Bunch

Suzanne Speight Bunch, 81, of 182 Lyons Lane, Hertford, NC, died Friday, May 3, 2013 in her home. Mrs. Bunch was born in Chowan County and was the daughter of the late Will Edward and Mattie Brown Taylor Speight. A retired secretary and bookkeeper from Dr. Poston and Hunsberger in Elizabeth City, she enjoyed membership in the Albemarle Area Medical Assistants, was an active member of Hertford United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Circle, and had taught Sunday school for many years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, John Edward and Kathryn Speight. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Alva Ray Bunch; a daughter, Susan Chappell and husband Larry; a son, Lonnie Bunch and wife Monica, all of Hertford; a brother, W.O. Speight and wife Billie of Abilene, TX; six grandchildren, Angel, Julie, Lonnie, Jr., John, Stephen, and Brian; and 18 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Beaver Hill Cemetery, Edenton, by the Rev. Larry Bowden. Friends may join the family at the residence.
