Christopher Steven Sidwell, Sr.

Christopher Steven Sidwell, Sr., 55, of 2240 Holland Corner Road, Suffolk, VA, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 in his home. Mr. Sidwell was born in Virginia Beach and was the son of Dorcus Ann Perry Sidwell of Virginia Beach and the late Melvin Lyle Sidwell. He was employed for many years as a mechanic/welder. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Cynthia Brock Sidwell; two daughters, Anna Sidwell of Suffolk and Christy Tillman of Portsmouth; a son, Christopher Sidwell, Jr. of Eure, NC; a sister, Ann Sidwell of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Melvin Sidwell of Suffolk and Ronnie Sidwell of Hertford, NC; and six grandchildren, Cody, Madison, Morgan, Emmett, Whitney, and Olivia. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the home of C. R. Brock, 756 Manning Road, Suffolk. Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main Street, Gatesville, NC is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
