Bobby Lee Barnette

Bobby Lee Barnette, 75, formerly of Edenton, NC, and more recently of Windsor House, died Monday, June 3, 2013. Mr. Barnette was born in Granville County and was the son of the late Claude Edison Barnette and Monnie Coppedge Barnette Bunch. A member of Cape Colony Church of Christ, he had a great love for bluegrass and country music. Surviving are his four sisters, Alice Richardson of Edenton, Ellen Jones and husband Wayland of Colerain, and Sue Britt and Nita Jernigan, both of Edenton; three brothers, Carroll "Billy" Barnette and wife Barbara of Elizabeth City, Claude Barnette and wife Flora of Pembroke, and Melvin Barnette of Chocowinity; 11 nieces, 10 nephews; and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the caregivers and staff of Windsor House for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time.
