Edna Marie Bunch Croom

Edna Marie Bunch Croom, 86, of W. Health Center Drive, Nags Head, NC, died Monday, June 24, 2013, in Colony Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Croom was born in Portsmouth, VA, and was the daughter of the late Richard Edward and Myrtle Marriner Bunch. A retired cashier with Colonial Stores, later Big Star, in Portsmouth, with 23 years of employment, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Excel Croom; her brother, Lonnie E. Bunch; and sisters, Virginia L. McGehee and Emma F. Bunch. Surviving are her daughter, Gayle Sparrow and husband Steve of Chapel Hill; her son, Glenn Croom and wife Connie of Kill Devil Hills; two brothers, Oscar W. Bunch of Lambertville, MI and Richard E. Bunch of Durham; and two grandsons, Zack and Stephen Sparrow. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Waff Family Cemetery, W. Queen Street Extd., Edenton. Friends may join the family in Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, on Friday, beginning at 12:30 p.m., until time for the procession to the grave.
