Susan Joyner Brooks, 66 of Middleburg, FL died Tuesday evening, July 2, 2013. Mrs. Brooks was a native of Miami, FL and moved to Clay County in 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middleburg where she taught pre-school children and volunteered her time with the Agape House. Her employment included teaching special need students at Doctor's Inlet Elementary, Grove Park Elementary, and Montclair Elementary Schools. Sewing and embroidery was a favorite activity of hers as she made clothes for her children and grandchildren. Her Christian walk and loving mentoring touched many lives including her husband, children, grandchildren and many friends. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her father, Talmadge Joyner, and her sister, Kitty Joyner Askins. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Ron Brooks, children, David (Laurie) Brooks, Tom (Peggy) Brooks and Sara (Greg) Rowe, mother, Sara Joyner, and six grandchildren, Meghan, James, Caroline, Jacob, Paige and Kaitlyn. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Middleburg with Rev. Todd Jones and Dr. Ron Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church.
